When it comes to railings there are even more choices than with decking. Digger Specialties and Timbertech-Azek offer complimentary man-made, composite railing systems, and you can also choose from a wide variety of:

  • Aluminum
  • Vinyl
  • Wood
  • Screen
  • Glass

Additionally many spindle styles are available that offer a wide range of traditional and contemporary looks. Different materials can be combined for posts and spindles creating unique and custom looks, as well. Working with a KJP designer can help you create a custom, beautiful look that is just right for your home.

KJP Sales often recommends railing systems that are made from recycled materials, are virtually maintenance-free, have long-lasting durability, and look fantastic.

Why Use Recycled Materials?

Once installed, our high performance recycled plastic lumber will last for decades without losing either finish or color. You will have years of maintenance-free enjoyment; no sanding, no painting, no staining. This material is manufactured from post consumer waste that would otherwise be harming our environment. For more information, visit Digger Specialties (polyvinyl) or Timbertech-Azek.

IV. Lighting

Deck lighting is an important factor to consider when designing your deck.  Often we think of a standard porch light, but lighting (with or without dimmer) can be built into the railings, flooring, and steps on a deck increasing its safety, ambiance, and overall aesthetic.

We have a variety of rail, riser, recessed, and solar lighting samples available in our showroom and special orders through our key supplier, Home Tops.

Today’s deck lighting products are safe and durable:

  • Low voltage lights are cool and safe to touch
  • LED’s are designed to last up to  40,000 hours
  • All KJP Sales products withstand Mid-Michigan inclement weather conditions
